UCFSD Coat Drive

Ready to Clean out your Closets? Want to Help out a Great Cause? Then don't forget the UCFSD Community Coat Drive!! On Saturday December 15th, along with the Bike Drive, UCFSD Community Service gives away gently used warm coats, fleece jackets, hats, mittens/gloves and snow pants to local families in need. Donated items can  be dropped off in the lobbies of any of the UCF district schools until Thursday 12/14. Items should be clean and in good condition. All styles and sizes are needed. New items are also gladly accepted! Volunteers are needed to pick-up coats from the various schools during the drive, and to set up and assist families with selections on 12/15. If you would like to help out with the Coat Drive please contact Ann Ferentinos (Ann.Ferentinos@comcast.net or 610-558-0965)

Club 68 at Patton!

What is Club 68? Brought to you by the YMCA, it's a “New” Supervised Youth Activities Program which has a designed curriculum to help Middle School kids discover their passions and build lasting friendships. It's great for 6th graders not eligible for after school sports and is designed specifically for Patton Middle School Students. Fall Festival and Dance!

The Patton Fall Festival and Dance is coming on Friday, November 9 from 2:30-5:00 for 6th grade and from 6:00-8:30 for 7th and 8th graders. The large caf will be a neon dance party, complete with an awesome DJ taking requests for today's hottest music, all in sync with extreme black lighting effects, fog machine and lasers, hundreds of glow items and decorations. There will be food and drinks with authentic carnival games in the gym. There will be a brand new photo booth equipped with Photoshop, cotton candy, a glitter tattoo artist and "Minute To Win It" competition. The cost is $10 per ticket (if paid in advance), $12 at the door and that price includes EVERYTHING. And Parents! Unionville Bike Drive

Community Fair!

Patton Forensics Teams

The Patton Middle School Speech and Debate teams demonstrated strong performances in yesterday's Chester County Forensics Tournament. These are some of the highlights of the day's events: In speech events, Jace Bridges placed 2nd in prose, Iain Duncan, placed 3rd in Discussion and Abhay Malik was awarded an individual Honorable Mention ribbon and a team 1st place ribbon for his contributions in Discussion. Additionally, Ethan Pan received honorable mention in original oratory as did Caroline Kenton for her extemp speeches. In debate, individual speaker awards were given to the following students: Honorable Mention ribbons to Caldon Driscoll and David DeMarco, 3rd place to Dana Homer, and 1st place to Jessica Liu. Also, we are very proud of the debate team of Dana Homer and Jessica Liu, who after four rounds of debate, took first place overall in the tournament and received trophies for the efforts. Congratulations to all of Patton's Forensic Team members for an outstanding job!

Band Jam 2012

One May 11, the band members from all six schools in the district held Band Jam 2012. Nine total bands, including all the concert bands from Patton Middle School, performed in front of a jam packed crowd for the second annual Band Jam event. The night culminated with 425 students performing together in the Armed Forces finale. Congratulations to all students involved in this wonderful event!

FCS Garden Program

Spring is almost here!! The FCS classes will begin tilling and amending the soil in the next few weeks and will do our traditional planting of peas and other cool weather crops on St. Patrick's Day. Before the end of school, we will have replanted for Summer. All the veggies go towards the FCS classes and the Food Bank. We need your help to maintain the raised beds over the Summer. If you and your family would like to adopt a bed for a week or more please contact Miss Hisler at khisler@ucfsd.org or Miss Ballard at bballard@ucfsd.org

Homework Requests

If a student has been absent for two or more consecutive days, parents or guardians may call the office at 610-347-2000 before 9:00 AM to request homework and class work. We ask that you speak directly with a member of the office staff when making this type of request. Please do not leave requests for class and/or homework assignments on staff members’voice mail systems or staff members' email. Parents are asked to collect all materials in the office to insure that all assignments reach the student. School personnel will retrieve needed books and materials from lockers. For additional CFPMS procedures and school policies, please view the Parent Handbook located under the "Quick Links" drop-down menu at the top of the Patton Middle School website.

Hoopin' To Help Success

Thank you to everyone who came out to make Hoopin' to Help a big success! Hundreds of local residents turned out Saturday night to honor the memory of a local basketball legend — Al Lewis — and were treated to some amazing basketball, all to support a great cause. For a recap of the games and a tribute to Al Lewis check out this Unionville Times article.

GIrls Exploring Technology

Calling all girls grades 6-12! March 24 is GETT 2012! GETT is "Girls Exploring Tomorrow's Technology." Statistics continue to show that girls are not embracing careers in technology, despite an increasing need for skilled professionals in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math in Pennsylvania and across the nation. The solution? GETT! GETT is a day-long, fun, hands-on informational event for middle and high school girls, in grades 6 through 12 throughout the Delaware Valley, their parents, and educators. PTO Family Fun Night!

The Patton PTO Family Fun Night was a huge success!! We had an outstanding night of basketball and a courageous effort by our Patton staff to keep up with our very talented 8th grade basketball teams! A special thanks to the Patton staff team - Mrs. Spisak, Mrs. Replogle, Mrs. McIntosh, Mrs. Dunbar, Mrs. McMahon, Mrs. Rafferty, Mr. Murphy, Mr. Baumgardner, Mr. Musacchio, Mr. McIntosh and Mr. Walsh. Also a big thank you you to Mr. Sudimak for the team introductions and keeping the music playing all night long as well as Mr. Fulginiti and Mr. Vosburgh for officiating the games. The PTO gave away an iPad 2 to a lucky raffle winner and at halftime, Nate Christopher hit a shot from half court to win an iPod Touch! Many thanks to our fabulous PTO for organizing a great evening.
