Patton Pride Flower Gardens

If you love to work with flowers here is your chance to get your hands dirty at Patton. One chair and 3 other volunteers are needed to maintain the flower beds on Route 82 as well as the large bed facing the High School. A budget is provided by PTO to continue the efforts of Mrs. Ferron to create perennial/self seeding annual flower beds around our school. This volunteer opportunity requires weeding and planting for both the Fall and the Spring seasons. You can help make our outside space as beautiful as the inside of the building by spending a little time in the Patton Pride Gardens.

Box Top Champions!

More than 14,000 Box Tops were submitted by Patton Middle students this year.  The expired Box Tops have been tossed in the trash and the counting has been completed. And the winners of the Box Tops Challenge are...6th grade: Mr. Baumgardner's advisory's submitted 509 Box Tops, but Mrs. Bunting's advisory came back after the final count to win the sixth grade contest with 547 Box Tops.  7th grade: Mr. O'Rourke's advisory and Mrs. Palic's advisory flip-flopped between first and second place all year. In the end, Mr. O'Rourke's students submitted 708 Box Tops, but that wasn't quite enough to over take Mrs. Palic's winning total of 752. 8th grade: No surprises in 8th grade as Mrs. Basilio's advisory held on to the top spot with 391 Box Tops. Congratulations to the grade winners, who will be treated to an ice cream sundae party, and to the overall Box Tops challenge champion, Mrs. Palic's advisory.

Box Top Challenge Update

There's been some shuffling around--but not too much--of the leading advisories in each grade after the last Box Tops count. In 8th grade, Mrs. Sordi's advisory has dropped from the top spot to third with 131 Box Tops. Mrs. Basilio's group came out of nowhere, contributing 199 Box Tops to move in to second place. And the new leader in 8th grade is Mr. Cippolini's advisory with 207. Mrs. Lear's and Mr. O'Rourke's advisories remain in third and second places in 7th grade with 408 and 431 Box Tops respectively. Mrs. Palic's advisory remains in the top spot with 563. The competition in 6th grade is especially tight, with only 40 Box Tops separating the top three: Mrs. Jennings, 220; Mrs. Steinen, 238; and Mrs. Bunting, 278. Remember, the next Box Tops deadline is April 1.

Parent Drop-off and Pick-up

Friendly reminder for student drop-off / pick up even as our building renovation continues! In the morning between 7:00 and 7:30am please drop off students at either the cafeteria area or the greenhouse area of the building followed by directly exiting onto route 82. Please do not use the road on the route 82 side of the building as this is a bus lane only for thru traffic. Additionally, the access road off of Doe Run road is “in only” in the morning. Please do not drop off students while on the access road as this creates pedestrian traffic in the area of all the moving vehicles. Please wait until next to the building to drop off students. The afternoon pick-up has the access road off Doe Run as an “out only” road. Please refrain from picking up students at the route 82 entrance between 2:00 and 2:30pm as buses line up for dismissal in that area. As always, thanks for your continued cooperation with this most important safety matter.

Homework for Absent Students

Parents or guardians may call the office at 610-347-2000 before 9:00 AM to request homework if a student has been absent for two or more consecutive days. We ask that you speak directly with a member of the office staff when making this type of request. Please do not leave requests for class and/or homework assignments on staff members’ voice mail systems or staff members' e-mail. School personnel will retrieve needed books and materials from lockers. Parents are asked to collect all materials in the office to ensure that all assignments reach the student. The materials will be available on the counter located in the main office from 2:30 to 3:00 the day the request is received.
